Luce Pilgrim of Hope
Luce is the official mascot for the Jubilee year. She is a ‘Pilgrim of Hope’ and is kitted out in boots and a raincoat for all her travels. She carries with her a set of rosary beads for her daily prayers.
Mrs Holmes the headteacher at St Patrick’s Primary, Huddersfield introduced All Saints students to the Luce and friends dolls when they visited us earlier in the year. Thanks to Ms Croke we now have our own Luce doll who is on her travels.
During half term Luce travelled to Hexham and Newcastle Diocese and met Bishop Stephen, visited the Faith Museum and Ushaw college. She was spreading the message of being a Pilgrim of Hope to all she met. Luce’s next pilgrimage is to Walsingham on the Lay Chaplain’s retreat and then she will be preparing for the very special Jubilee Lourdes pilgrimage in July.
