Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
At All Saints our mission is to put Christ at the centre of our community and in having the Blessed sacrament reserved in the Chapel, we have the body of Christ within school. Every half term we place the Blessed sacrament in the Monstrance and keep a silent prayer vigil before Christ. The Monstrance is the large sun-like gold item in the photograph – monstrance means to show – we are shown the body of Christ in the monstrance. Throughout the day staff and students sign up to be in the Chapel for fifteen-minute prayer slots and are able to sit in contemplation before Christ. Exposition is an important and appreciated part of the prayer life of the school. It adds to the wellbeing of the community by providing time for reflection in a calm environment.
Julia in Year Seven enjoys taking part in Exposition in school and sees it as part of her continued faith journey: “Adoration is something I did from a young age, it just gives me peace and a boost of love at the end of the day.”
